Explore what Ontario Hunt Map can do, from planning your hunt to keeping your field records together.

01 / Hunt Intelligence

Turn your sightings into insight.

Record an animal, location, photos, and available conditions. Hunt Intelligence groups your observations and looks for patterns across similar conditions.

A personal pattern estimate, not a guarantee of animal activity.

N
02 / Wind compass

See north and the wind at a glance.

The compass turns with your phone to indicate north. The wind label shows where wind comes from and the arrow shows where it is blowing.

Wind is a nearby weather observation; a reading may be old or unavailable.

03 / Start Hunt

Record the route you walk.

Start a hunt to create a Start flag and record a dotted breadcrumb trail. Follow your Walked, Trail Back and Direct Back distances in the header.

Trail Back follows recorded paths; Direct Back is a straight-line distance.

04 / Blood Trail

Mark the trail, one drop at a time.

Record numbered blood drops during a hunt. Breadcrumb recording pauses while you mark the Blood Trail and resumes afterwards.

Both trails stay with their Start waypoint.

05 / Land & offline maps

Explore the land. Prepare ahead.

View available Crown land, parks, county forests, WMUs and forest access roads. Download supported map areas before you head out.

Live services and data not saved for offline use need a connection.

06 / Waypoints & Hunt Groups

Share the moments you choose.

Save waypoints, photos and sightings, and share selected places and hunt trails with other hunters. Opt in to live group locations while connected.

Live sharing is voluntary and requires internet access.

!
07 / Reporting reminders

Keep deadlines in view.

Record tag details and set reminders for mandatory reporting. Mark a report complete after you submit it through the official service.

Reminders depend on notification permissions.

08 / Private land drawings

Mark an area that matters to you.

Draw and name your own private-land area on the map. Find it later and use the layer switch to show or hide it.

Drawings are personal planning aids, not proof of ownership or access.

09 / Measuring tool

Measure between map points.

Tap the ruler in the footer, then tap two or more points to total the straight segments between them. Use Undo to remove a point.

Map distance is not a navigable route and does not include elevation changes.

10 / Weather & moon

Know the conditions around you.

Review available conditions, wind, forecasts and alerts for a selected area, along with moon information.

Availability varies by location and generally needs an internet connection.

Feature illustrations are conceptual. App screens and available information may vary.
